Learning Objectives
- Describe the radiobiological foundations of re-irradiation, including mechanisms of radiation damage and repair over time.
- Explain tumor and normal tissue responses to re-irradiation, including immune effects, treatment benefits, toxicity risks and the role of radiomodifiers.
- Identify state-of-the-art clinical practices and technologies for re-irradiation including imaging, image-guidance, treatment planning, dose accumulation, uncertainty assessment, delivery and quality assurance.
- Apply practical knowledge and skills required for the safe planning and clinical implementation of re-irradiation.
- Recognize key computational tools, data-sharing resources and ongoing clinical trials in re-irradiation.
