What to Expect
The AAPM Annual Meeting & Exhibition features a wide range of session formats designed for different learning styles, career stages, and areas of practice. Here's a quick guide to what you'll find in the program.
Scientific & Educational Sessions
The core of the program. Oral presentations on original research, clinical applications, and educational topics across imaging, therapy, nuclear medicine, and radiological sciences.
Keynotes
Plenary presentations by distinguished invited speakers on topics of broad relevance to the medical physics community.
President's Symposium
A signature Monday session organized by AAPM's president featuring invited speakers on a topic chosen to reflect the president's strategic priorities for the field.
SNAP Orals
Short, focused 5-minute oral presentations on high-impact work, followed by Q&A. An efficient format for presenters and attendees alike.
Poster Sessions
Hundreds of research posters displayed in the Exhibit Hall. Browse at any time during hall hours; authors are present at their boards during scheduled author-attended sessions.
Vendor Showcases
Short product-focused sessions held in the Innovation Room on the exhibit hall floor. Showcases highlight new technologies and clinical applications from industry partners.
Partners in Solutions (PinS)
Physics-focused 30-minute educational sessions led by an AAPM member with invited vendor participants, addressing specific clinical topics with multiple industry perspectives.
Early Career & Trainee Sessions
Dedicated programming for residents, students, and new professionals.
Continuing Education Credits
The 2027 AAPM Annual Meeting & Exhibition offers two types of continuing education credits for qualified attendees. Credits are available for in-person and on-demand participation depending on type.
MPCEC Credits
Medical Physics Continuing Education Credits (MPCEC) are available to all Full Conference and On-Demand registrants for both in-person attendance and on-demand session viewing after the meeting.
MDCB Credits
Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) credits are available for in-person attendance only. On-demand viewing does not qualify for MDCB credit.
How Credits Are Awarded
Credits are awarded based on session attendance. Complete evaluations for each session you attend — evaluations open on July 25 and close September 8, 2027 at 11:59 PM ET.
On-Demand Access
Full Conference registrants can earn MPCEC credits for on-demand sessions viewed after the meeting. Recordings are posted within approximately 24 hours of each live session and remain accessible for up to one year.
Earned credits are posted to your AAPM account on September 15, 2027. Detailed information on maximum credits available and specialty-specific requirements will be published when the program goes live on May 11, 2027.
